Aaaaannnnddddd… We’re back! After the spectacle that Mayweather Vs McGregor was it’s good to be back to our regularly scheduled program. … For now. We are coming back hard with a decent Fight Night. Luke Rockhold is finally back after his embarrassing loss to Michael Bisping. Luke was on quite a run until the limey stopped him in the first with that “pillow fist” KO punch. I have to admit seeing Rockhold drop filled me with a little glee due to his apparent narcissism and hyperbole but damn. He has a lot to prove in his comeback Vs. David Branch. David has been on a tear and is on an 11 fight win streak. He’s fresh out of WSOF now coming into the UFC he also has a lot to prove against the StrikeForce/UFC vet. I think this is a good matchup for both of them.
This card also has a number of those innocuous fights that don’t seem to mean much but these sleeper cards are often the hit makers that most people miss and end up regretting. That’s why we are doing this at the newly remodeled House of Brews. Their upstairs has been remodeled and their menu revamped. I am looking forward to chillin in their new digs while watching Platinum Perry (exciting newcomer) take on the vet, Thiago Alves. Hector Lombard who was still KO’d last week (Hendo) and is now looking for relevancy against Anthony Smith. (Not the E&J drinking MMAinNYC member) Uriah Hall is back fighting Branch’s first UFC victim. Usman Vs Sergio Moraes should be a good one. (WRASSSSSLIN!!) And there are a few others.
Join us for this low-key MMA Fight Night. These are the ones most of us truly bond over pugilism and brew. It will be a great day.
